Specialty: Soil Microbiology

 

Narrative: I primarily teach undergraduate students in soil fertility and soil microbial ecology courses, but I also teach graduate-level soil microbiology and biochemistry and distance-education soil-plant environment. My research is in soil/plant/microbe/environment inactions, primarily working with soybean and rhizobia/mycorrhizae. I serve the Agronomy department as Associate Chair, working both with undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.

M.S. (Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry), 1972 , Iowa State University
Ph.D. (Soil Microbiology), 1975 , North Carolina State University

 

 

Dr. Loynachan worked at the University of Alaska from 1975 to 1978 doing research on oil-spill remediation.
