Environmental Science (ENSCI) 690
ENSCI 690 is a required seminar course for Environmental Science graduate students. Meetings are also open to
non-enrolled students and the public.

Dr. David Laird, USDA ARS, National Soil Tilth Laboratory (Ames), and professor,
ISU Department of Agronomy, will speak on a new sustainable process to produce energy from plants.
18 February
Dr. Cal DeWitt, University of Wisconsin-Madison, "Science, Ethics, and Praxis: A Framework for Sustainability."
10 March
Mr. Keith Kutz, Iowa Energy Center, "Socio-Environmental Issues Surrounding Energy in Iowa."
24 March
Dr. Mike Kessler, ISU Department of Materials Science & Engineering, will speak about his research on biocomposites.
31 March
Mr. Ryan Horn, Regional Community Affairs Manager, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., will speak about Wal-Mart's
environmental sustainability initiatives.
7 April
Mr. Monte Shaw, Executive Director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, will speak about the sustainability of biofuels.
21 April
Dr. Holly Hartmann, Director, Arid Lands Information Center, and
Department of Hydrology and Water Resources, University of Arizona,
"Using Scenarios to Plan for Hydroclimatic Variability and Change."
