Clubs & OrganizationsEnvironmental Science ClubNew in 2007, the EnSci club is a student organization that promotes the discussion and understanding of issues in the area of environmental science while developing interaction among students, faculty, and environmental science professionals. Members also work on environmentally friendly projects such as starting a battery recycling program in the residence halls. Soil & Water Conservation ClubThe Soil and Water Conservation Society fosters the science and the art of soil, water and related natural resource management to achieve sustainability. They promote and practice an ethic recognizing the interdependence of people and the environment. Student Environmental CouncilThe Student Environmental Council (SEC) strives to raise the awareness of the ISU community to issues concerning the integrity of our natural environment. Members periodically set up information tables or displays on important issues as well as attend conferences and political advocacy events. Geology ClubNot just for geology majors, great opportunity to learn more and have fun in the area of geology. Engineers for a Sustainable WorldEngineers for a Sustainable World (ESW-USA) was founded on the belief that engineers and community members can work together to identify and solve technology-based problems, employing solutions that can be locally sustained, leading to an improved quality of life. |
